While traveling in December from Arizona to British Columbia, the furnace in our 2014 Outdoors RV Manufacturing 250 RDS quit. Untimely for sure. I don’t need an RV furnace problem in December.
I do not take winter RV travel lightly. I start looking at the weather forecast two weeks out – I want to see the trends as much as I want to see the forecast. Hitting the weather window as planned does not guarantee that there will not be other problems.
Weather plays a big role in our planning – and our reality. We plan to go where we want to be based on weather. In reality, getting there is often at the mercy of the weather – too hot, too cold, too windy, too wet to travel.
Having gone south in January 2014 we were coming home in early February. The overall duration of this trip was again limited by our 40-day out-of-country medical coverage.
